Corner View Farm History

In 1915, Ammon and Sally Biehl began farming at Corner View Farm, milking cows in 14 stalls. In 1964, the next generation, LeRoy and Mildred Biehl expanded to double the number of stalls. Twenty years past and the third generation, Dalton and Vickie, had taken over and decided to expand to 39 stalls. In 2005, the pair decided once again to expand their operation, this time adding 20 stalls. Eight years pasted and the farm was now trying to expand yet again. In 2011, construction started for a robotic milking facility and a new freestall barn allowing expansion to 120 cows. Dalton and son Brad were general contractors for this project. Building this barn and expanding the herd allowed Brad and his wife Brooke to become co-owners of the farm next to Dalton and Vicki. Later that year, the Biehls bought a neighboring farm which gave them more land and a barn to be renovated. They quickly started renovations to make the barn a home for their heifers. The family now owns over 200 acres of land with some additional rented property which allows them to grow all the forages needed for the dairy as well as most of the grain. They predominantly focus on growing corn, alfalfa, soybeans and wheat. In 2015, they added automatic calf feeding technology from Urban and a robotic feed pusher from Hetwin. A year later, the first automatic bedding machine in the United States was added to their barn. Today Corner Veiw Farm has a 150 cow milking herd, along with managing 100 replacement heifers and 30 dry cows.
